The Disowned Turnbaum/Quotes

(Dimmsdale Junior High; Timmy struggles to carry his backpack and stuffs it in his locker)
Ivan: Man, that looks heavy. Did Francis make you carry his dumbbells again?
Timmy: Well, dumb is one way to describe him, but no, far worse than that. My parents are making me carry the rocks in our backyard.
Ivan: Rocks? Of all the places, why not somewhere more roomy like... the attic.
Timmy: I would if my dad didn't turn it into a fortress in case Mr. Dinkleberg escapes from the Planet of the Dads.
Ivan: What a waste.
Timmy: Tell me about it. But, we all got family problems. Take Kimmy Turnbaum for example.
(flashback outside the Dimmsdale Elementary)
Ivan: Man, does Crocker even catch a break with those F's?
Timmy: No, he doesn't.
Timantha: I hope there's no more weird surprises. (Sanjay walks up to Timantha) Oh, hi, Sanjay!
Sanjay: Timantha, I'd like for you to meet my former date, Kimmy.
(Kimmy shows up; Timantha, Ivan, Chloe and their fairies gasp)
Kimmy: Nice to see you again, Timmy.
Sanjay: And Kimmy, this is my current girlfriend and Timmy's twin sister, Timantha.
Kimmy: (shakes hands with Timantha) Pleased to meet you. (to Timmy) I didn't know you have a twin sister!
Chloe: Holy cow! She looks and sounds like Timmy!
Timantha: You tell me, that's an awkwardly uncanny resemblance right there. I wonder if me, Kimmy and Timmy are triplets?
Ivan: You know her, Timmy?
Timmy: Well, I only met her once during the Romance Dance when I thought Sanjay couldn't get a date. Kimmy has proven me wrong.
Kimmy: I'm a student in the Lyra Ubetcha Memorial School and I have 3 goldfish!
Ivan: Are those goldfish by any chance...(whispers) your fairy godparents?
Kimmy: No, those are real.
Wanda: (disguised as a book) She's right. Those goldfish are not fairies.
Sanjay: Hmm, since when your books can talk?
Chloe: A.J. made these kinds of books for us.
Astronov: (disguised as a book) They are good for saving your time on reading.
Timmy: Kimmy, are you, by any means, a Turner?
Kimmy: No. My family name is Turnbaum.
(Timmy and Timantha gasp)
Timmy: Turnbaum? As in the Turnbaums, the Souvenir Bandits that looked suspiciously like our parents and framed them?
Kimmy: (sigh) Yes, those ones.
Timantha: Well, so much for the triplets thing.
Chloe: But it at least explains the similarities between her and Timmy.
Timmy: Okay, we know you're not a Turner, but do you have any siblings, like a brother, or sister?
Kimmy: No. I'm an only child.
Ivan: So, Kimmy, I'm gonna assume that your life with your parents was...
Kimmy: Horrible? Yes, it was.

(flashback to the Turnbaums driving in their mobile home and stealing baby supplies for their daughter Kimmy)
Kimmy: (narrating) When I was born, they stole baby supplies to take care of me. They didn't buy them, because it was easier to steal them.
Chloe: Didn't you have a home?
Kimmy: (narrating) No. I lived in their mobile home, they moved and robbed souvenirs across America. As soon as I was old enough, they started bringing me along for their cross-country crime sprees.
Mrs. Turnbaum: Here, Kimmy, hold this bag, will you?
Past Kimmy: Why?
Mr. Turnbaum: You'll see.
(Mr. and Mrs. Turnbaum enter the store; seconds later, an alarm rings and they get out of the store and put the souvenirs in the bag)
Mr. Turnbaum: Get in the RV, quick!
Past Kimmy: I...can't.
Mrs. Turnbaum: Get in or else we're all getting arrested!
Past Kimmy: I don't want to be a robber!
Mr. Turnbaum: (slaps Kimmy on the face) You're a Turnbaum, you were born to be a Junior Souvenir Bandit! Now get in!
(Mr. and Mrs. Turnbaum get in the RV, followed by a tearful Kimmy getting into the RV)
Mr. Turnbaum: AND STOP CRYING! (the RV speeds off; followed by the police cars giving chase)

Timmy: Wow. I thought my parents were bad, but they are the best parents ever compared to Kimmy's!
Timantha: Yeah, I mean, they never resorted to physical abuse. That's usually Vicky's territory.
Chloe: They beat you up a lot, right?
Kimmy: Yeah... (continues narrating) They also blamed me for failed robberies.
Mrs. Turnbaum: It was our daughter!
(all of the Turnbaums are arrested)
Kimmy: (narrating) But, there was that one time of happiness when my parents stole three goldfish for me as a gift when I turned 9 years old. That was pretty much the only time I was happy with my parents, though.
(The Turnbaum family stops at a gas station; Kimmy eavesdrops on her parents, who are looking for souvenirs inside, and steal some cash)
Mrs. Turnbaum: You know, Pa, if we didn't have Kimmy, we could have gotten away with some of our robberies.
Mr. Turnbaum: Yeah! Having a daughter can be such a drag. Think how our life of crime would be better off if Kimmy was never born!
(Kimmy walks away with a sad frown)
Mr. Turnbaum: (shouting) AND THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL!
Mrs. Turnbaum: Shhh! You want us to get caught?!
Mr. Turnbaum: Sorry.
Kimmy: (narrating while the scene shows her packing up her goldfish and her stuff) It was at this point when I've had enough of my parents mistreating me and I ran away.
(Mr. and Mrs. Turnbaum exit the gas station)
Mr. Turnbaum: Kimmy, it's time to go! (no response) Kimmy?
Mrs. Turnbaum: (grabs a note stuck to the RV; reading) "Dear mom and dad..."
Kimmy: (narrating) "...if you are reading this, I don't want to live a life of crime anymore. I decided to run away. Please, don't bother looking for me. Your not-so-beloved daughter, Kimmy."
(pause)
Mr. and Mrs. Turnbaum: HOORAY!
(the police cars surround Mr. and Mrs. Turnbaum)
Mr. Turnbaum: Oh, darn it!
Cop: Alright Turnbaums, step away from the premises. Put your hands behind your backs and down on the ground. NOW!

(shot of Kimmy running through the forest with her goldfish and feeding on wild fruits)
Kimmy: (narrating) I ran away from my parents, and kind of kept moving through the forest and living on a diet of wild fruits and berries. That was until I came across a military vehicle parked near a gas station.
(Kimmy stops near a military SUV, with an army woman filling up her SUV)
Army Woman: Are you lost?
Kimmy: Yes, ma'am.
Candy: (gets out of the SUV) Hang on, mom, I'll talk to her. What's your name?
Kimmy: I'm Kimmy Turnbaum. I ran away from my abusive parents. All I've got are my goldfish to keep me company.
Candy: Oh, that's very rough. I'm Candy Skylark, and that's my mother Sandra. She serves in the military.
Kimmy: I can clearly see that. Say, Candy, aren't you related to that teen singing sensation, Chip Skylark?
Candy: Shhh! (whispering) Yes, I'm Chip Skylark's twin sister, but don't tell anyone. Listen, how about we adopt you? You can live in my brother's penthouse.
Kimmy: Sounds...tempting. After how my parents used to treat me, being adopted by a nice family, not to mention living under the same roof as Chip Skylark would be a massive improvement.
Sandra: Okay, sounds good. (looks in the SUV's interior) Okay, gas tank's full. Time to go, Candy.
Candy: Can we take Kimmy too?
Sandra: Of course.
Candy: Thanks, mom. (to Kimmy) You know, you kind of remind me of a kid that my brother knows.
(fade to a shot of Chip's Pad, Kimmy is shown dancing with both Chip and Candy to an instrumental version of "My Shiny Teeth and Me")
Kimmy: (narrating) And since then, I lived a happy life with Chip Skylark's family and never looked back at my old life.
(end of flashback)
Sanjay: That story started sad, but then it turned really heartwarming by the end.
Neptunia: Who would've thought that Kimmy is living in the same place as Chip Skylark now?
Ivan: That's actually quite surprising.
Sunny: Not to mention, pretty cool.
Timantha: Say, Kimmy, how's Chip treating you?
Kimmy: He's really nice. Chip's kind of like a big brother that I never had.
Chloe: That's so sweet.
Timmy: Kimmy, you're so lucky to be living with a teen singing sensation like Chip Skylark. I also happen to be Chip's friend - I first met him when when his car hit a tree in the middle of the road the day before my birthday.
Kimmy: That seems weird.
Poof: A lot of weird things happen in Timmy's life.
Kimmy: Now, if you'll excuse me, I better get back to my school. It was nice meeting some of you, and it was really nice to see you again, Sanjay.
Sanjay: Likewise.
(flashback ends; back to Dimmsdale Junior High)
Ivan: I'm just glad that Kimmy's backstory had a happy ending.
Timmy: Me too. Despite being a family of famous musicians, the niceness really runs in the Skylark family.
Chloe: (walking by) I saw you struggling to carry your backpack, Timmy. What was in it?
Timmy: My parents made me carry rocks in our backyard.
Chloe: Maybe they made you carry rocks as a way for you to get some exercise?
Timmy: Uh, sure, let's go with that.
