The plot of this episode is similar to the canon episode "Apartnership!".
This episode reveals that Ivan hates styrofoam, and Neptunia is allergic to it.
Neptunia's debate on which dress to wear when she lives at Mama Cosma's house and Cosmo's responses while he's watching TV are a reference to the episode "The Boy Who Would be Queen", when Cosmo and Wanda switch genders.
During the end of the episode at the game section in the Mall, Mr. Turner saw Timmy and Ivan's godparents in plain sight, but he was too dumb to suspect them as fairies.
It's also revealed that he's divorced from his wife and Wanda's mother, Hefty Ma, who eventually makes an appearance in the season 2 episode "Organized Trash".
This episode marks the return of Wallet, who first appeared in the canon episode "Finding Emo".
It's revealed that Wallet broke up with Jorgen after she found out he was married to the Tooth Fairy, but agreed to stay friends.
It's also revealed that Wallet replaced Cupid as the new host of "The Fairy Dating Game", and that they have been dating, and eventually got married.
Avatar: The Last Airbender - Neptunia yelling "I'M COMPLETELY CALM!!!" moments before breaking up with Astronov after Ivan tells her to calm down is similar to Katara yelling the same words at Aang when he tried to calm her down after Toph called her "sugar queen" in the episode "The Chase" of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Both Neptunia and Katara are voiced by Mae Whitman.
The Ren and Stimpy Show - The show that Cosmo watches on TV is "Man's Best Friend", an episode of the Ren and Stimpy Show which was banned by Nickelodeon for excessive violence in a scene where Ren beats up George with an oar. The episode wasn't shown until 2003, with the debut of the Adult Party Cartoon on TNN/Spike TV. The sounds from the episode are used, and Cosmo describes what he sees, although the episode itself isn't seen.
