  • This is the first episode to show Marty crossdressing. He crossdresses to enter the female talent show against Jessie and Amanda, similar to Timmy's dad entering the beauty pageant in the episode "Miss Dimmsdale", however, unlike Timmy's dad, Marty doesn't win.

  • Super Mario Bros. - At one point, Tammy calls her half-brother "Shy Guy", as a reference to the Shy Guy enemies in Mario games.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) - Tommy falling over and giving a "thumbs up" gesture after his and Jessie's first kiss is similar to Donnie falling over and giving a "thumbs up" gesture after April hugged him for saving her dad in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode "Operation: Break Out".
  • Danny Phantom - Jessie calling Amanda shallow and then arguing with her after Marty embarassed himself in front of her is similar to the Danny Phantom episode "Parental Bonding", in which Sam calls Paulina shallow after Danny embarassed himself in front of her, causing them to argue.
