• Blondie - The title of the episode is a reference to the song "One Way or Another" by the new wave band Blondie.
  • Futurama - This episode was inspired by the Futurama episode "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on Television". Both shows feature characters voiced by Kath Soucie, and both episodes have a similar premise where one of the main characters (Ivan & Bender) becomes a television star (on "All My Biceps" & "All My Circuits"), with several consequences (divided opinion and being a bad role model for children).
    • At the auditions, Blonda throws an auditioner out for an accent she thinks is "so bad, I think you gave me gland cancer!", which is a reference to the scene from that episode where Bender read the script with his "flawless Spanish accent", and Calculon says "That was so terrible, I think you gave me cancer!".
  • SpongeBob SquarePants - Cosmo's ringtone is "Electric Zoo", a song that was featured in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Krab Borg".
  • Pepsi - When Jorgen turns on the TV at the beginning of the episode, a commercial for the cola Dampsi comes on. Dampsi is a spoof of Pepsi, a real-life brand of cola.
    • The same commercial also features Dampsiman, a parody of Pepsiman, the Japanese mascot for Pepsi, and has his own theme song, like Pepsiman.
  • Segata Sanshiro - When All My Biceps goes to commercial after a Poof and Ivan episode and Jorgen complains about the show's decline in quality, the commercial on TV shows a fairy in a karate gi is seen beating up a few other fairies and holding a game console, a reference to Segata Sanshiro, Sega's marketing mascot who had numerous commercials advertising the Sega Saturn in Japan, some of which depict Segata beating up people and telling them to play the Sega Saturn.
  • Sonic Boom - After Jorgen complains about the new All My Biceps episode with Ivan and Poof, saying how it ruined the show, Astronov says that TV networks always have a tendency to ruin their beloved shows, similar to Knuckles remarking how game companies always ruin their beloved franchises in the Sonic Boom episode "FiendBot".
    • It also pokes fun at the decline in quality of the Fairly OddParents and Nickelodeon demanding additional characters, such as Poof and Sparky, to be added to the main cast.
  • Good Burger - One of the locations in Fairywood is a fast-food restaurant named Mondo Burger, which is named after the restaurant of the same name from the 1997 Nickelodeon movie Good Burger.
