American Family Man is a television program that appeared in The All New Fairly OddParents!. This show appeared in "Channel Overwish".

Information

This show is a parody of both Family Guy and American Dad!, which are adult comedy cartoons created by Seth MacFarlane. Family Guy aired on FOX from 1999 to 2000, was briefly cancelled, then aired from 2001 to 2002 before it was cancelled again and brought back in 2005, still airing new episodes to this day. American Dad! aired on FOX from 2005 to 2014 before it was moved to TBS, airing both reruns and new episodes to this day.

Trivia

The characters take the role of the Griffin and Smith families. Timmy and his fairies are dressed similar to the Griffins from Family Guy, while Ivan and his fairies are dressed similar to the Smiths from American Dad!:

Sparky in The All New Fairly OddParents! was voiced by Seth MacFarlane, who also voiced Peter, Stewie and Brian Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, Tom Tucker, Stan Smith, Roger and other characters in Family Guy and American Dad!.
Timantha being dressed as Meg is a reference to the song "Gonna Buy Me a Rainbow" from the Family Guy episode "Don't Make Me Over", in which Tara Strong, Timmy and Timantha's voice actress, took over for Mila Kunis as Meg's singing voice, as Mila claimed to be a poor singer.
Some of the people who worked on Family Guy and the Fairly OddParents did contributions on each other's shows:
- Ron Jones, the person who co-wrote the original Fairly OddParents theme song, is also a recurring composer on Family Guy and was a former composer on American Dad!.
- Butch Hartman, the creator of the Fairly OddParents, is good friends with Seth MacFarlane, and also did some voicework in American Dad! and the first 3 seasons of Family Guy. One of the characters on Family Guy, Dr. Elmer Hartman, was named after him.
- Steve Marmel, a writer on the first five seasons of the Fairly OddParents, is also good friends with Seth MacFarlane, and worked as a producer on Family Guy during its 12th and 13th seasons.
American Family Man is one of the few shows to be blocked off by the Parental Block.
